Catching Up with Old Friends
Posted by swan480 on 06/21/08 in Finance
Not too long ago, I got in touch with an old friend from high school, whom I hadn’t seen in 10 years. When we graduated she had been intending to get her degree and enter the financial industry, and when I talked to her again, I found out that that’s exactly what she did. She now has a pretty good job working for the IRS.
Working in accounting and finance is a great, reliable career choice for many people. You just need a bachelor’s in accounting or finance. There are some schools out there that offer really good programs, such as Briarcliffe College — this school offers both an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting. Of course, the bachelor’s is usually the best way to go, because employers (or clients, if you intend to start your own accounting business) tend to look favorably on more education, particularly when you are just starting out and don’t have any experience yet.
