Locating the Perfect School

There are so many schools out there now that one of the biggest problems new or returning students face is finding the right school for them.  Sifting through all the schools is truly a daunting task.  Here are a few suggestions to get you started, and hopefully make your search a little easier:

  • Do an Internet search.  Most businesses, including schools, have an Internet presence these days.  Do a Google search for what you’re looking for — for example, Google graphic design programs in Arizona.
  • Use your high school career center’s resources.  If you are graduating or just recently graduated high school, take advantages of the resources your school offers.  Most high schools have guidance counselors to help you make plans for college, plus a library of information on different schools and careers.
  • Check out your local schools.  You may already know what schools are located in your area.  Arrange to visit them and go on the tours, talk to someone about the degree program or programs you want to pursue, etc. — anything that will help you make your decision.

Despite the large number of schools that now offer programs in every field imaginable, finding the perfect school doesn’t have to be impossible — but it will take a little investigation on your part.  Don’t be afraid to dive right in!
